July is Disability Pride Month, a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and diversity of the disability community. It’s a month that reminds us that disability is not something to hide—but something to honor.
At ACETSS.org, we believe disability is not a limitation—it’s a different way of experiencing strength. Through inclusive Taekwon-Do, we empower individuals of all abilities to move with confidence, purpose, and pride.
Disability Pride Month began in July 1990, the same month the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law. It was a milestone for civil rights, but the journey toward full inclusion continues. This month isn't just about legislation—it's about identity, dignity, and empowerment.
We see this pride every day—in the student who earns their first belt while navigating sensory challenges, in the instructor who adapts a technique so every body can participate, and in families who witness transformation through martial arts.
This month, let’s move beyond awareness. Let’s lift up disability pride as part of a broader human pride: one that sees strength in every story, power in every punch, and belonging in every body.
We’re proud to stand with our Taekwon-Do family this month—and every month.
